FAVORITE 45NRTH PIECE OF NON-RUBBER GEAR:
Choosing only one is hard - I’m going to choose my favorite 45NRTH OUTFIT: Redwing Wolvhammer boots, Naughtvind bib knickers, Torvald jacket layered over base layers, Greazy cap, Sturmfist 5 gloves. I could live 70% of my life in this outfit, changing out layers bit by bit depending upon the weather, and be completely comfortable and happy.
FAVORITE, OR MOST NOTABLE, WINTER FAT BIKE ACCOMPLISHMENT OR EXPERIENCE:
First woman to ever finish JP’s 200 mile Fat Pursuit, Arrowhead 135 Course Record holder, Tuscobia 160 Course Record holder, Iditarod Trail Invitational 350 finisher. The accomplishment that made me fall in love with fat biking racing was the Solstice Chase in St. Croix Falls, WI. I pushed my bike for so long and just kept going despite deteriorating trail conditions and struggling. I felt like I was the very last person to finish. We’re talking empty parking lot, course tape being cleaned up, all of my friends were changed into dry clothes… but I came in 3rd place!! My first fat bike podium! That race taught me a lot about perseverance and to keep chugging along in mushy snow - it’s always worth it to keep moving forward, even if you’re pushing your bike!
BIGGEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU HAVE TO A NEW RIDER:
Being persistent goes a long way! Stay positive and keep moving, enjoy being out in the snow, and make it fun!
